This is a recently completed commission, a re-imagining of a historical tugboat named the J. E. Boyden.
I’ve provided extensive material about my working process in the new and in progress section of this website. Please have a look. It represents an approach to painting that relies heavily on the imagination, something that a perceptual painter like myself is not always comfortable with. Update, May 11, 2012: At the client’s request this painting underwent several minor modifications. I’ve updated this image to reflect those changes.
